Protocols
Many communities choose to develop protocols as part of their DEC program. Such protocols outline the roles and responsibilities of each participating agency in the event that children are discovered in a home where drugs are used or manufactured.
More than 40 Kansas counties are engaged in the Drug Endangered Children protocol development process. Click on the county name below to view that county's meth lab protocol.
Shawnee County and Geary County have adopted expanded protocols that apply to children living in any type of drug environment, not solely methamphetamine labs.
